Meditation is actually a part of the spiritual science of Yoga. By Yoga, we mean the practices of meditation, yoga asanas (yoga postures) and various subcategories. These practices, when done regularly, help a person to achieve a high degree of health, well-being and fulfillment.
Whereas in the West yoga is often considered to be physical exercises only, the original, complete yoga comes from ancient India. The Sanskrit term Yoga refers to the idea of “unification” or “union”, that is, to find our connection with universal consciousness. This concept means that through yogic practices one can become a complete person, realising one’s spiritual potential.
